KidzLifeChildren’s Ministry
Kidz Life (ages 4-12): Reaching children of all ages with the Word of God through age appropriate and lively Kidz Ministry classes. Our Purpose: To equip our youngest disciples to become the next generation rooted in God’s Word reflecting the Apostle’s Doctrine.  At Kidz Life, children will learn about God through lively classes that incorporate object lessons, fun activities, positive interaction, and drama-filled Bible lessons.

Chosen (ages 13-19): Reaching teenage students with the Word of God through age appropriate and lively activities during our "Deeper Life" Sunday Morning classes.

Our Purpose: To equip student disciples to reach their peers and to handle life now and forever and to stand up and stand out for the Word of God.  We want to help God’s “Chosen” reach forth into this present darkness, shining God’s light to all those around.

The "Chosen" will learn about God through interactive sessions that cover topics that today's teens face. These biblical and teen relevant studies are designed to connect teens with other believers, empower them to grow in their faith, and equip them to live lives that honor God.

"Chosen2" - Taking it to the next level! "Chosen2" is our sometimes small group bible study/sometimes "just chillax" (chill/relax) sessions designed to connect our "Chosen" teens together with other teens.

Our Purpose: To empower teens to spread the Gospel and to discuss the many topics that teens face in a different environment other than a church setting. This relaxed atmosphere is conducive to forming lasting friendships and bonds between teens - it's a great time of bible study and fellowship with games and snack.

These "off the hook" sessions take place on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month @ 7:00 PM. Be sure to check our "Upcoming Events" page regularly for location information.

Band of Brothers: At New Life we are convinced that strong families build a strong church and Godly men build strong families.  Connect to a group of real men building lives that are God-centered and well balanced. Band of Brothers target each event to enhance, strengthen and develop men with the heart of a champion. Women of Worth (WoW): WoW focuses on bringing women together in casual fun settings so they can meet new friends, feel comfortable bringing old friends, or just hang out with good friends. College and Career Ministry

Impact reaches single adults between the ages of 18 and 30. Impact meets once a month usually on the 3rd Sunday of each month at various locations and for various events.  Please be sure to check out our Upcoming Events page often to obtain information for Impact events.  Our events range from small group type discussions about life to attending a Blue Man Group show.  Honestly...no really...Impact is the absolute coolest group in the city.  We have an insane amount of fun and we truly care about one another. passenger_vanTransportation Ministry

Need a ride?  We can pick you up!  Our drivers are licensed through the state of VA and have passed strict requirements so that we can ensure the safety of each individual that may ride our transportation ministry.  Want to send your child to Sunday School so that you can have some personal time?   We will pick them up and drop them off at scheduled times every Sunday!  We offer this service free of charge and it is available for every regularly scheduled service time on Sundays and Wednesdays.  To schedule a pick-up for you or your children contact our Transportation Ministry Assistant, Israel Cruz, Jr (Izzie), at 757-285-0973 or email him This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. New Life small groups are especially designed for each individual and for our church as a whole to grow, connect and serve. They are a chance to get to know members of the New Life community on a deeper level and to dig into the issues of life from a scriptural vantagepoint.  Our small groups are homogeneous small groups which in this case basically means we have male and female groups.  Men can talk about subjects that directly affect them as husbands, fathers, sons, brothers and friends. Likewise, women can discuss subjects that directly affect them as wives, mothers, daughters, sisters and friends.  We feel this provides a setting where there are no inhibitions that might be caused by feeling uncomfortable in the presence of the opposite sex.  

Speaking of being comfortable, the setting of the small groups is very "unchurchy" and you are invited to dress comfortably. The setting is relaxed and refreshments are always available.

prayer1Prayer Ministry

At New Life, we consider prayer to be one of the most important things we do for ourselves, our church and our community. During the week, a prayer team is meeting every single day to pray over the needs of our city, our nation and our congregation.  Well over 300 corporate hours of prayer are lifted to God each year and approximately 30 hours of corporate prayer are offered to God each month by our prayer teams.  This is not to brag or boast, it is to state emphatically, that New Life takes prayer seriously.  We believe in the power of prayer!  We believe that prayer makes a difference!  If you have a need and would like to submit it to our prayer teams please do so knowing that we take these requests very seriously and that you can rest assured that your need is being covered in prayer.  Submit prayer requests to Francene Cruz, New Life's Prayer Coordinator, either at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
